Newbie hat buffer overflow...
Hallo zusammen,
nachdem ich jetzt schon ein wenig mitgelesen habe traue ich mich mal ans Licht.
Der Gedanke, meine geliebten DM-Gräber von früher wieder zum Leben zu erwecken lässt mich nicht mehr los. Meine Favoriten aus den 80ern (die mich ein Vermögen an Taschengeld gekostet haben):
- Hyper Olympics
- Scramble
- Elevator Action
- Hogan's Alley
Nun hab ich's vor geraumer Zeit schon mit Mame auf dem PC probiert und mir wurde schnell klar, dass ich irgendwann ein halbwegs authentisches CP brauche.... .
Die Monate gingen ins Land und dann stiess ich neulich auf dieses tolle, kompetente Forum :rolleyes:. Ja und dann wurde mir plötzlich klar, dass ich nicht nur ein CP brauche, sondern ein komplettes Cabinet:eek:.
Jetzt hab ich mir soviel Input reingeschraubt, dass ich vor lauter Arcade den Mame nicht mehr sehe und euren Rat/Hilfe brauche:
Mir scheint, dass ein "TV-Ideal" das universellste aller Geräte ist und da hab ich bei Ebay auch einiges gesehen. Nun gibt's ja augenscheinlich verschiedene Versionen. So finden sich z.B. V523, V593, V597, V598 bei Ebay. Worin unterscheiden sich denn diese Versionen und zu welcher würdet ihr mir raten? Worin unterscheidet sich die Twin-Line Variante (für zwei Spieler oder gibt's noch mehr Unterschiede)? Leider hab ich darüber im Newbie-Guide keine Infos gefunden.
Parallel zu Ebay hab ich mich beim lokalen Automatendealer nach ausrangierten Geräten erkundigt und hätte da auch die Möglichkeit etwas für's kleine Geld zu bekommen. Kommentar des Dealers: "Ohne Garantie (aber meistens mit Platine :)), die meisten stehen schon ne Weile rum und da sind dann wohl die Kondensatoren ausgetrocknet". Gibt's dazu Erfahrungswerte? Wie hoch ist der Aufwand die Kondensatoren zu ersetzen (Vielleicht gibt's ja spezielle Kandidaten, die dafür bekannt sind, dass sie "frühzeitig" die Grätsche machen). Worauf sollte ich sonst noch achten (speziell beim TV-Ideal), ich möchte vermeiden, dass ich letztlich Spermüll kaufe. Könnte theoretisch auch mehrere dieser Cabinets bei dem Händler kaufen und dann aus 5 defekten wieder einen funktionsfähigen zu machen.
Was darf denn ein defekter TV-Ideal noch kosten?
Heikles Thema ist auch die Monitor-Frage. Am liebsten würde ich natürlich einen original Arcademonitor verwenden, mich schreckt nur die Tatsache, dass ich mir dafür eine speziell gepimpte GraKa samt J-PAC zulegen soll... .
Kummer macht mir auch das Handling von 25kV (falls ich da ein Chassis tauschen muss), da hab ich Respekt davor (obwohl ich mittlerweile eine Anleitung zum Entladen von einer autralischen Webseite habe) :o.
Alternativ kommt natürlich auch ein normales TV in Frage, allerdings ist es mir noch nicht gelungen genau herauszufinden, wie ich das an den Computer angestöpselt bekomme (Grafikkarte hat einen Composite-Anschluss).
Wär euch sehr dankbar, wenn ihr mir ein wenig unter die Arme greifen könntet. Bin dankbar für alle Tipps und werde euch sicherlich noch häufiger in den virtuellen Ohren liegen (spätestens wenn ich dann mal ein Cabinet mein Eigen nennen kann :D).
